EXPERIENCE
I have worked for three decades as a newspaper reporter, editor and photographer, magazine writer, and public and media relations management.
I am active in positive social media, and I have been responsible for news page design and layout, local and wire copy editing, photo and graphics design, reporting, editorial writing, and mentoring younger reporters.
My recent writings include freelance for magazines and newspapers, blogging, Wikipedia entries, Internet articles, and Facebook and Twitter entries.

Reporter/Assistant City Editor • Savannah Morning News 1984-1996
As reporter, beats included the port of Savannah, environment, transportation, business, the military and city and county government. I was a staff co-winner of two Georgia Associated Press awards, for coverage of the mail-bomb murder of a Savannah City Council member and the campaign for and passage of the first roads sales tax referendum in Chatham County, Ga. As assistant metro editor, I supervised newsroom of 12 reporters, plus three bureaus.
